Stretch or not stretch, that is the question

Definitely stretch. The real question is more like how exactly do we stretch. And we supposed to strech.

On many yoga classes you can hear the teacher sayin’ things like ‘relax into the posture’ or ‘breath yourself into the posture’. Honestly these sentences sound like a total nonsense for the first (few or many) times. But in this video – that’s originally from the Yoga International’s page – it’s being explained beautifully ow muscles work by Ralph Stephens.

Knowing your body and knowing how it works can help you a lot improving your practice for sure. It can prevent injuries. But also, this knowledge can  develop the connection with your inner self. Getting to know your boundaries, feeling how much you can push yourself, still being aware of the point when you might have to hold back a little. Practicing the act of letting go are really great exercises and through the asana/posture practice you learn these then you can use it the everyday life.

I’m still amazed how all things connect with each other. During the asana practice you learn from your body, about your body and at the same time it’s a great mind exercise too. As your mind is changing so does your body even in the smallest atoms. It’s a beautiful circle.
